Many denture wearers like to use denture adhesive to secure your dentures in place, while also helping block out food particles. If a few annoying food particles do manage to work their way into the space between the dentures and your gums, you should thoroughly rinse them away along with the residual adhesive. Then you can reapply fresh adhesive for a clean, secure fit.

After taking your dentures out each night, you should through rinse away any residual adhesive. This will give you smooth surface to reapply the denture adhesive the next day. Then you should brush your dentures with a soft bristled toothbrush and nonabrasive toothpaste or denture polish. You should soak your dentures overnight in water and keep it in a safe place.

If you only have dentures replacing one set of teeth, whether upper or lower, you should brush and floss your remaining natural teeth, as part of your regular daily oral hygiene routine. It’s also a good idea to brush or clean your tongue to remove excess plaque and bacteria.
